Recycle Your Corks With Us
At J. Christopher, we believe that sustainability doesn’t stop at the vineyard – it’s in every decision we make, from farming to winemaking to how we close a bottle.
That’s why we’ve partnered with the Cork Collective to launch a natural cork recycling program right here at the winery. We’re proud to be the first in Oregon to join this effort, and we’re inviting you to be part of it.
Bring in Your Corks
We’re making it easy to give your used corks a second life. Just:
- Gather your natural corks, from any winery (not just us).
- Stop by our tasting room – we’re open daily from 10am to 5pm.
- Drop your corks in the collection bin by the front door.
- Feel good knowing you’re helping keep a renewable resource out of the landfill.
No appointment or purchase necessary – just your corks and a little time.

So… What Happens to Them?
Good question! Once collected, your corks make their way to a special facility, where they’re cleaned and processed into sustainable materials – like building insulation, flooring, fashion goods, and other useful stuff that would otherwise rely on plastic or synthetics.
Natural cork is a biodegradable and renewable, but only if it’s recycled properly. Most of it isn’t – so we’re doing our part to change that.
A Small Step That Matters
Recyling cork is one more way we’re trying to tread lighter on the land we rely on. It’s not flashy, but it’s real – and every little bit helps.
